Treatment Operator – 2nd Shift
Job Description:
This position functions as support for the Supervisor and production team with a special and main business focus on the technical aspects within the assigned area and field of specialization. This position requires set-up and operation of various types of treatment methods, as well as, performing other responsibilities and cross functional tasks required for the production of aerospace parts.
*This is safety sensitive position.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and unload parts
- Interface with computer control system
- Prepare equipment for operation in accordance with defined procedures and specifications
- Prepare part for treatment process (e.g. cleaning, masking, blasting, etc.)
- Monitor and troubleshoot process
- Perform physical or visual verification of parts as required
- Operation of forklift and overhead crane
- Provide technical support for introduction of new projects
- Train and support new employees
- Maintain clean work environment through 5S activities
- Must work in a safe manner following safety guidelines and policies
- Follow PPE requirements, including but not limited to respirator requirements
- Other assigned duties as required
Profile:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; technology diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills / Experience:
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Willing to work in 3 shift operation
- Must possess basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel, PLC input) and be willing and able to perform necessary required documentation
- Basic skills such as reading, writing, and math
- Must possess strong communication skills and effective writing skills in the English language.
- Must have good problem-solving skills
- Must enjoy working in a team environment and be willing to accommodate flexible working schedules, including shift work
- Must be able to demonstrate safe operation of machinery
- Work under minimal supervision while handling multiple job requirements
- Be able to regularly handle items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally handle items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
- Must be able to visually detect color
- The ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time in a repetitive manufacturing environment
- Participate in a cross training and cross functioning team environment
- Able to take and Pass visual, physical, and respiratory fit testing exams, if required
