CMM Programmer

Asco is now looking for a CMM Programmer for the Belgian site. The CMM Programmer creates CMM programs and updates existing programs according to defined drawings, specifications and CAD models to guarantee that the part is measured correctly in an economically responsible way.

Responsabilities :

The CMM  Programmer will develop, optimize and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.

  • Develop, validate and maintain CMM inspection programs for dimensional verification of manufactured components;
  • Deliver serviceable CMM programs on time to production;
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), specifications and quality requirements;
  • Create ASCO Technical Sheet (ATS 16.xxx) instructions (Probe & extension, part mounting, etc.);
  • Looking up measuring points or dimensions in CAD CATIA V5;
  • Offline and online testing of measuring programs;
  • Creating measuring point plans;
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing CMM programs to improve efficiency and measurement reliability;
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve dimensional and quality issues;
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards;
  • Review and validate CMM fixtures;
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology and inspection processes;
  • Manage the revision history for each update to the 3D measurement program.

 

The CMM Programmer will give support to the Quality Controllers

Cooperating with QCs (Quality Controllers) in order to test new CMM programs and support specific analysis.

  • Perform test runs of new programs;
  • Perform first article inspections and support production quality activities.
  • Release CMM programs and ATS before the start of serial production.

 

Profile, expertise and experience

Education : Industrial Engineer (Master in Engineering) or equivalent by experience

Languages : French and/or Dutich – English is a must

Skills / Experience :

  • High level of precision, analytical thinking, rigorous in perfoming inspection  and a strong commitment to accuracy;
  • Experience in CMM Eprogramming and dimensional inspection;
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T requirements;
  • Knowledge and experience with CAMIO and/or Calypso CMM programming software is a strong asset;
  • Experience with aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments is considered an advantage
